The 2026 Emmy stunt nominations have been announced, with The Boys, Fallout, Stranger Things, Spider-Noir, Palm Royale and several other major productions competing across stunt coordination and stunt performance.

The Television Academy recognises three dedicated stunt categories: Outstanding Stunt Coordination for Comedy Programming, Outstanding Stunt Coordination for Drama Programming and Outstanding Stunt Performance.

Outstanding Stunt Coordination for Drama Programming
The 2026 nominees are:
- The Boys — John Koyama, Supervising Stunt Coordinator
- Fallout — Casey O’Neill and Josh Kemble, Stunt Coordinators
- FBI — Victor Paguia, Stunt Coordinator
- The Rookie — David Rowden Sr., Stunt Coordinator
- Stranger Things — Hiro Koda, Supervising Stunt Coordinator, and Jahnel Curfman, Stunt Coordinator
The field represents very different kinds of screen action, from superhero violence and post-apocalyptic combat to procedural work and large-scale supernatural sequences.
Outstanding Stunt Coordination for Comedy Programming
The comedy stunt-coordination nominees are Beef, Palm Royale, Peacemaker, Poker Face, Spider-Noir and Tulsa King.
Among the named coordinators are Shauna Duggins for Beef, Mallory Thompson for Palm Royale, Dave Macomber for Peacemaker and Hugh Aodh O’Brien for Spider-Noir.
The word “comedy” can be misleading from a stunt perspective. These shows can still require highly technical fights, vehicle work, falls, rigging and precision physical comedy. The tone changes, but the department still has to deliver controlled, repeatable action for camera.
Outstanding Stunt Performance
The 2026 nominated productions are:
- Fallout — “The Profligate,” including Jeremy Fitzgerald and Tim Soergel
- FBI — “Crusader,” including Adam Shippey, Hannah Scott, Bryce Biederman and Chris Barnes
- A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
- Palm Royale — “Maxine Finds Herself,” including Sonja Wajih and Colby Lemmo
- Spider-Noir — “Tread Lightly,” including Kyle Potter and Solomon Brende
This category matters because it recognises the people physically executing the action rather than only the coordination department.
Why the stunt Emmys matter
For audiences, a sequence can look effortless. For the stunt team, the same sequence may require casting, rehearsals, pads, rigging, choreography, camera testing, specialist equipment, safety planning and repeated adjustments before a single usable take is captured.
Awards recognition gives those contributions a name.
It also helps shift public understanding away from the simplistic idea that action filmmaking is mainly about whether a lead actor “did their own stunts.” The more valuable question is often: who designed the sequence, who performed it, and how did the departments work together to make it believable?

Stunt awards are becoming a bigger part of mainstream film culture
The Emmys already distinguish between stunt coordination and stunt performance. The Academy Awards will soon add Achievement in Stunt Design for films released in 2027, while the Taurus World Stunt Awards continue to recognise specialist stunt disciplines.
That means the public record of action filmmaking is becoming more detailed. Coordinators and performers are increasingly discoverable alongside directors, actors, editors and VFX teams.
