Lunga Soni, affectionately known within the stunt community as “Sonic,” is an accomplished South African stunt performer and movement artist based in Cape Town. Highly recognized for his explosive agility and elite background in extreme tricking, Soni operates as an integral member of the Sabotage Elite action collective, working alongside the country’s leading traceurs and cinematic stunt professionals to elevate South African action design on the global stage.
Soni forged his reputation as an elite physical athlete on the regional movement circuit, distinguishing himself as one of the premier tricking talents on the African continent. Seamlessly synthesizing martial arts aesthetics with gymnastics and urban freerunning, his technical command over complex aerial dynamics quickly paved his entry into the professional entertainment industry.
Since entering the commercial film and television sector, Soni has built an impressive slate of credits, notably serving as a member of the core stunt team for Netflix’s hit live-action series One Piece. His tactical movement and physical stunt sequences have also been featured on the critically acclaimed South African historical drama series Shaka iLembe (2023).
On the global stage, Soni’s versatile technical skillset has been utilized across major international blockbusters. His prominent stunt credits include the high-stakes Bollywood action blockbuster War 2 (2025), the sci-fi action feature Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die (2025), the military action feature Sniper: The Last Stand, and the highly anticipated fantasy epic Children of Blood and Bone.
